Girls’ Cricket 2026 Season

Dynamos

The club’s Dynamos programme for 8-12 year olds, continues to thrive and plays a crucial role in the Girls’ pathway. It provides a fun and structured introduction to cricket, helping young players build confidence before progressing into team cricket and, ultimately, the Women’s squad.

Older Dynamos participants (Year 4 and above) are encouraged to stay on after their sessions and join Girls’ training, helping to create a seamless transition between programmes.

Developing Talent and Pathways

The 2025 season marked an exciting period of renewal and recruitment for the Women and Girls section at Toft Cricket Club. A key milestone was entering an U13 Softball team into the Cheshire Girls League, creating a welcoming and supportive environment for younger and newer players to experience competitive cricket alongside more experienced teammates.

For older players interested in hardball cricket, a hybrid approach with the Women’s team was introduced.

2026 Season Plans

For the 2026 season, Toft will field an:

U13 Softball team in the Cheshire Girls League

This ensures continued development opportunities across a broad age range in a fun, inclusive, and competitive environment.

While a dedicated hardball Girls team will not be entered this season, the club remains committed to:

• Supporting any players ready to transition to hardball cricket

• Providing opportunities through training and integration with the Women’s team

The long-term vision is to establish:

• A younger Softball team

• An older Hardball team

— ensuring every player has the right level of challenge and support.

Representative Honours

The progress of the Girls section is already being recognised beyond the club. In 2025:

• Four players were selected to represent Toft at the Cheshire Girls District Festivals

One player achieved County selection for the Cheshire Girls team

These achievements are a testament to the hard work of the players and coaches, and the club is immensely proud of them all.
