In a replay of last year’s final, it was Toft who came out on top. With the prospect of rain in the air, Toft won the toss and chose to bat first. With four of the first five batsmen retiring unbeaten (Hardstaff 34, Drummond 31, Locke 30, Storrow 29) and some healthy blows from Ashley late on, the Toft batsmen amassed a competitive total of 156-3. In the second innings, the Toft bowlers continued to apply the pressure, never letting the Grappenhall batsmen get ahead of the required rate. Against a decent batting line up, especially good returns were recorded by Sheldon (3-6) and Drummond (2-16), supported by some excellent catching from Muirhead and Storrow.
Toft CC - Over 40s won the toss and decided to bowl.
