143 partnership seals victory for the 2nd's
A fantastic partnership between Tom Maddocks and Ewan Williams meant Toft pick up the 25 points.
The 2XI continued their return to winning ways with a 7 wicket victory at home to Didsbury. Toft winning the toss and choosing to field on a sun-soaked Booths Park. After a wayward start with the ball leaving the Didsbury openers uncontested slow seamer Nigel Muirhead (1-44 from 12) and spinner Joe Stanley (1-49 from 14) bowled tightly to increase the pressure. Paul Ashley (2-18) took two wickets in 1 over to remove the two set batsmen Ali Qasim (27) and Shahbaz Qasim (23) before Robert Lakin top scored with 49 not out. Didsbury closing on 171-5 from their 50 overs.
In reply Toft looked assured after losing David Bates early. Tom Maddocks (55) and Ewan Williams (81) combining in a fantastic partnership of 143 that eventually sealed victory for Toft, chasing down their target for the loss of 3 wickets in 42 overs. Toft take a trip to a strong Oulton Park outfit next weekend.
